La cápsula endoscópica es una tecnología diagnóstica que utiliza una cápsula del tamaño de píldora para fotografiar el interior del intestino delgado. El paciente se traga la cápsula, la cual contiene una o dos cámaras de vídeo en miniatura, una bombilla, una batería y un transmisor. La cápsula viaja a través del esófago, el estómago y el intestino delgado, tomando fotografías rápidamente. Estas fotografías son transmitidas a un pequeño receptor que carga el paciente. Después de aproximadamente 24 horas, las fotografías son descargadas a una computadora, donde pueden ser revisadas por un miembro calificado de nuestro equipo. Es importante recordar que la cápsula endoscópica sólo ayuda a diagnosticar el problema. Si requiere de tratamiento, puede necesitar una endoscopia completa para eliminar y corregir esa situación.
